"Points
of consideration that include Art and the garden"
LENW understands that it is designing for the client.
Each client has unique wants and needs. and a distinct
personality. We ask:
-
What
does this client want?
-
What
does his/her spouse want?
-
Do
they want the same things?
-
Do
they know what is possible?
-
Do
they know how the inclusion of the landscape will affect their
project?
-
What
can they afford?
-
What
are their preconceptions?
LENW
looks at both the house and it's surroundings before it designs a
project. We ask:
-
What do we want to see when we look out the window?
-
Is
the house big enough?
-
Does
it feel big enough?
-
Can
we use the landscape to make the house seem larger?
-
Is there good
physical access?
-
Does
the house make us e of natural light?
Then we define what we want to accomplish.
-
Given all the
thing that are possible, what are the most
important things for the client?
-
What changes make
the biggest improvements for the investments?
-
What needs to be
done immediately. What later?
Only after going through all these questions do we begin to put
lines on paper. It is not the drawings that make a good project,
it is the work that precedes the drawings.
